Angan Ka Utsav’ Initiative Begins in Odisha with Focus on Strengthening Anganwadi Centres and Creating Better Facilities for Children

Bhubaneswar,  Sept 29 [UDN}:With the objective of further strengthening Anganwadi centres and taking nutrition and health awareness initiatives for children, mothers and adolescent girls to every village, the ‘Angan Ka Utsav’ campaign was launched today.

As part of the initiative, an announcement was made to increase the dress allowance for Anganwadi workers and helpers from ₹1,390 to ₹1,500.

The initiative also seeks to improve the functioning and management of Anganwadi centres. To simplify the process of managing electricity bills of Anganwadi centres, the ‘DIPTI’ (Deepthi) portal was also launched.

The campaign is aimed at making Anganwadi centres more effective as community-level platforms for child development, maternal care, nutrition, health awareness and support for adolescent girls, while improving the delivery of essential services at the grassroots level.
