Bhubaneswar, Sept 30 [UDN}:Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that a decision has been taken to organise the National Film Awards ceremonies at some of the country’s leading tourist destinations.
Addressing the National Film Awards ceremony at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat, Vaishnaw said major national events should not remain confined to traditional venues. Instead, such programmes should be organised at different locations across the country to showcase India’s diverse cultural heritage, tourism potential and regional attractions.
He said the move would help bring greater national and international attention to prominent tourist destinations while giving visitors an opportunity to experience India’s cultural and geographical diversity.
Vaishnaw emphasised that organising prestigious national programmes at different locations would also contribute to promoting tourism and highlighting the unique identity of various parts of the country.
