Cricket Joins Odisha’s ‘Chief Minister’s Trophy’ to Provide Young Athletes Greater Opportunities to Develop Skills

Bhubaneswar,  Oct 1 [UDN}:The ‘Chief Minister’s Trophy’ will now include cricket as part of efforts to identify and nurture young sporting talent across Odisha. The initiative is aimed at providing promising athletes with greater opportunities to develop their skills from the grassroots level.

As part of the state’s sports infrastructure expansion, modern stadiums are being constructed across all 314 blocks at an estimated cost of ₹4,124 crore. In addition, a high-tech sports complex is being developed at Gothapatna, further strengthening Odisha’s sports ecosystem.

The state government said it is committed to creating opportunities for talented youngsters at every stage—from the grassroots to national and international platforms—and to developing Odisha into one of the country’s leading sports hubs.
