Naveen Patnaik Seeks Unanimous Assembly Resolution on MMDR Amendment, Writes to CM Majh

Bhubaneswar:Oct 1 [UDN}: Political activity has intensified in Odisha over the proposed amendments to the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, with Leader of Opposition and BJD president Naveen Patnaik once again writing to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on the issue.

In his letter, Patnaik highlighted what he described as the need to safeguard Odisha’s interests and the state’s mineral resources. He stated that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has consistently stood for protecting the rights and interests of Odisha.

Patnaik also stressed the importance of safeguarding the future of the state’s youth. According to the letter, the BJD has remained committed to protecting the interests and future prospects of the younger generation of Odisha.

Drawing the Chief Minister’s attention to the proposed changes in the mining and mineral laws, Patnaik raised concerns over their possible implications for Odisha’s mineral resources and the interests of the state’s younger generation.

The letter comes amid political discussions in Odisha over the proposed amendments and their potential impact on the state’s mineral-rich economy and resource-related interests.
