Seven-Day Paradip Kalinga Bali Jatra Scheduled from November 23 to 29, Bringing Odisha’s Maritime History, Traditional Culture and Festive Spirit to the Forefront

Paradip, Oct 12 [UDN}: The annual Paradip Kalinga Bali Jatra will be held from November 23 to 29, celebrating Odisha’s rich maritime heritage, ancient trade links and historical cultural connections with Southeast Asian countries. The week-long festival is expected to bring together visitors, traders, cultural performers and local residents for a celebration of Odisha’s glorious seafaring history.

The festival commemorates the maritime traditions of ancient Kalinga, when Odia sailors and merchants sailed across the Bay of Bengal to establish trade and cultural ties with regions of Southeast Asia, including Bali. The event is also expected to provide a platform for cultural programmes, local businesses, handicrafts, traditional food and tourism promotion, while highlighting Paradip’s importance as a historic maritime centre of Odisha.
