Lakhanpur, Oct 15 [UDN}:A joint public grievance redressal camp was organised by the district administration at the Lakhanpur Block headquarters to address various problems and concerns raised by local residents.
The camp was attended by Biswaranjan Nayak, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad, and Sub-Collector Sabyasachi Panda, who directly listened to grievances submitted by members of the public. Chief District Medical and Public Health Officer Dr Shakti Prasad Padhi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and officials from various district- and block-level departments were also present to receive complaints and facilitate their resolution.
A total of 71 complaints were registered during the grievance hearing. Of these, 54 were individual complaints, while the remaining 17 concerned collective or community-related issues. The administration resolved seven complaints on the spot, providing immediate relief to the concerned applicants.
In another significant development, financial assistance of ₹10,000 from the District Red Cross Fund was sanctioned to one beneficiary during the camp to help address their financial needs.
The complaints raised by residents covered a wide range of public welfare and administrative issues. These included the distribution of land titles (pattas), drinking water supply, road construction, problems faced by beneficiaries excluded from the Subhadra Yojana, difficulties related to paddy procurement and sales, social security pensions, delays in bill payments, and land-related disputes.
The joint grievance hearing provided an opportunity for residents to bring their concerns directly to senior administrative officials and seek timely intervention. The district administration instructed the concerned departmental officers to examine all registered complaints within the stipulated time frame and take the necessary action to ensure appropriate redressal.
The initiative reflects the administration’s effort to strengthen public grievance redressal, improve coordination among government departments, and ensure that citizens receive timely assistance in resolving their individual and community-level problems.
