Bhanjanagar, Oct 15 [UDN}:: In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare services in remote and inaccessible areas, an Auto-Ambulance Service has been launched in Bhanjanagar block of Ganjam district to ensure timely and convenient medical assistance for pregnant women and infants below one year of age.
The initiative aims to address transportation challenges faced by people living in geographically isolated areas, particularly pregnant women and families with infants who may require urgent medical attention. Through this service, beneficiaries are expected to receive easier access to healthcare facilities, helping reduce delays in reaching hospitals and community health centres.
The service was formally inaugurated by the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bhanjanagar. The Medical Superintendent of Galeri Community Health Centre (CHC), the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), the Medical Officer and other healthcare personnel were present at the launch programme.
The introduction of the Auto-Ambulance Service is an important initiative to improve maternal and child healthcare, particularly for vulnerable families residing in areas where conventional ambulance services may face accessibility challenges.
By facilitating timely transportation for pregnant women and infants, the initiative seeks to strengthen healthcare access, promote safer motherhood and support better health outcomes for young children.
The launch reflects a concerted effort by the block administration and healthcare department to make essential medical services more accessible to people in remote areas and ensure that geographical barriers do not prevent mothers and children from receiving timely healthcare.
