Nabarangpur, Oct 22 [UDN}:(Bureau): In a significant step towards strengthening urban infrastructure and improving civic amenities, Nabarangpur Municipality has inaugurated one newly constructed community centre and two high-mast lights installed at different locations across the municipal area. Nabarangpur MLA and District Planning Committee Chairman Gouri Shankar Majhi formally inaugurated the facilities and dedicated them to the public.
The initiative aims to improve basic civic facilities, address the everyday needs of local residents and promote the overall development of the municipal area. The newly inaugurated community centre is expected to provide a convenient venue for residents to organise community gatherings, social functions, cultural programmes, public meetings and other collective activities.
The inauguration programme was attended by the Chairperson of Nabarangpur Municipality, councillors representing various wards, Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad, and Dr Ashok Kumar Karna, Executive Officer of Nabarangpur Municipality, along with other municipal officials and staff members.
The community centre is expected to serve as an important public facility, enabling local residents to come together for discussions, meetings and activities related to community welfare. Its availability will help strengthen social interaction, public participation and a sense of collective responsibility among residents. The facility is also expected to support the organisation of various social and cultural programmes, providing a common space for people to participate in community activities.
Meanwhile, the installation of two high-mast lights at different locations within the municipality is expected to improve illumination in the surrounding areas. The improved lighting facilities will be particularly beneficial during the evening and night hours, making movement more convenient for residents and providing better visibility in public spaces.
Enhanced street and public-area lighting is also expected to contribute to a more comfortable environment for pedestrians and other commuters, while improving the usability of public spaces after sunset. The facilities will help address local lighting needs and make everyday movement more convenient for people living in the municipality.
