Bhubaneswar, Oct 23 [UDN}: A review meeting was held at Rajiv Bhavan to assess the final estimates of flood-related damage caused during the current year and review the status of compensation distribution. Instructions were issued to expedite the process of providing compensation to people affected by the floods to ensure that they receive assistance without unnecessary delays.
The meeting also placed special emphasis on reducing the impact of heavy rainfall and urban flooding in the future, while accelerating restoration, rehabilitation and repair works in affected areas.
The Odisha Government reiterated its commitment to ensuring prompt and effective post-disaster assistance and restoring the livelihoods of affected people. The government stressed the importance of expediting relief and recovery measures so that affected families can overcome the hardships caused by flooding and return to normal life as quickly as possible.
