Delhi, Oct 30 (UDN): President Droupadi Murmu attended an event and felicitated artists in recognition of their contributions to the field of art and culture. Emphasising the importance of empowering artists financially, she stressed the need to create wider market opportunities for their artistic works and ensure that they receive appropriate remuneration for their talent, creativity and dedication.
The President highlighted that art is a mirror of a nation’s culture, reflecting its traditions, values, heritage and social identity. She underlined the importance of preserving the country’s rich cultural legacy while encouraging artists to adapt to changing times by embracing new technologies, innovative techniques and contemporary artistic styles.
President Murmu also called for providing greater opportunities to young and emerging artists so that they can nurture their talents, enhance their creative abilities and establish themselves in their respective fields. She emphasised that a supportive environment, improved access to markets and fair financial returns are essential to strengthening the livelihoods of artists and ensuring the continued growth of India’s diverse artistic traditions.
Her message underscored the need to strike a balance between safeguarding traditional art forms and encouraging innovation, enabling India’s cultural heritage to flourish while opening new avenues for the next generation of artists.
