Bargarh, Nov 2 (UDN): A voluntary blood donation camp was organised by Nistha Parivar on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, on the auspicious occasion of Gaja Lakshmi Puja at Andhra Camp Chhak under Khandahatha Gram Panchayat in Bargarh Block. The event was organised in association with the celebrations conducted by the Sriram Banik Sangha.
Bargarh MLA Ashwini Sarangi attended the programme as the chief guest, while D. Murali Krishna and Sudhanshu Gadatia joined as distinguished guests. They formally inaugurated the blood donation camp by cutting the ribbon.
A total of 31 units of blood were collected at the camp by the Bargarh Blood Bank. Devotees visiting the venue to seek the blessings of Maa Gaja Lakshmi also came forward voluntarily to donate blood, demonstrating their commitment to social service and humanity.
The programme also featured beautiful dance performances by school students, adding a cultural dimension to the religious celebrations. The distinguished guests felicitated the participating students with mementoes and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their performances. They also encouraged and appreciated the blood donors for their valuable contribution to society.
Members of Nistha Parivar efficiently coordinated and managed the blood donation camp. Meanwhile, the cultural programme was successfully organised under the supervision of Sriram Banik Sangha president Shyam Sundar Sahu, secretary Rinku Sen Kar, Jamidar Sahu, Bharat Pradhan, Sachhi Panda, Jitu Mahapatra, Tripura Suhula and others.
Extending its heartfelt gratitude, Nistha Parivar thanked all the blood donors, supporters, volunteers and well-wishers whose cooperation contributed to the successful organisation of the camp.
The initiative highlighted the spirit of community service and compassion, showing how religious celebrations such as Gaja Lakshmi Puja can also become an opportunity to promote voluntary blood donation and save lives.
