12th December 2024: The state-level “Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav” was held to honor Tamil poet and nationalist Subramanya Bharati on his birth anniversary. The event celebrated India’s linguistic diversity as a symbol of strength. Bharati’s contributions to Tamil literature and other Indian languages were recognized, with a focus on social reforms, equality, and nationalism. His writings played a key role in the independence movement.

Chief Minister highlighted the importance of linguistic diversity for India’s progress and noted that Odia, now recognized as a classical language, is integral to the state’s cultural heritage. The Chief Minister also spoke about initiatives like the “Ideal Primary School Scheme” in honor of Odisha’s first Chief Minister, Harekrishna Mahatab.
Education Minister Nityanand Gunde and Development Commissioner Anu Garg emphasized the importance of language in preserving culture and encouraged students to engage in shaping India’s future.
