Bhubaneswar, 10th February 2025: Vijayalaxmi Rahatkar, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW), will embark on a two-day visit to Odisha starting Monday. During her stay, she is expected to participate in the Odisha State Women’s Commission’s Foundation Day celebrations.
Rahatkar’s visit aims to review the state’s progress in tackling critical issues such as human trafficking, child marriage, and the enforcement of the Prevention of Sexual Offenses Act (POSCO). She will evaluate Odisha’s initiatives in these areas and discuss the necessary actions to further safeguard women’s rights and safety.
This visit reflects a continued effort to strengthen cooperation between the national and state bodies for the betterment of women’s welfare.
