Odisha Pushes for Stronger Aviation Connectivity

Bhubaneswar, Feb 13, 2025: Odisha’s 3rd High Power Committee meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, focused on expanding regional connectivity and modernizing airports. Key developments include the Shree Jagannath International Airport in Puri, airport expansions in Jeypore, Amarda Road, and Utkela, and a new airport at Paradip.

The state also launched a revised Small Aircraft Scheme to improve connectivity to underserved areas. Additionally, the establishment of an Aviation Security Training Institute at Chandaka aims to build a skilled workforce. Odisha is set to become a key player in India’s aviation landscape, boosting both tourism and economic growth.
