Bhubaneswar, Feb 17: At the conclusion of the Matsya-Pranee Samavesh Odisha (MPSO) 2025 fair, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati highlighted the potential of Odisha’s fisheries sector to drive economic growth and improve rural livelihoods. He stressed the importance of diversifying agricultural practices by integrating dairy, poultry, and fisheries with modern techniques.
The Governor praised government schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and Mukhyamantri Matsyajibi Kalyan Yojana, which aim to benefit fishers. He also encouraged the adoption of innovation and digital tools, such as AI, to enhance productivity in the sector. The event was attended by key officials, including Fisheries Minister Gokulananda Mallik.
