Govt. Directs Limit on Working Hours for labourers During Summer

20th February 2025: In light of the approaching summer, the Odisha government has announced new guidelines to limit working hours for  Labourers  to prevent heat-related health risks. This move aims to reduce the discomfort and hazards workers face due to extreme temperatures.

As per the new directive, Labourers will only be allowed to work from 11 AM to 3 PM between April 2025 and June 15, 2025. In case of urgent or essential work outside these hours, employers are instructed to ensure proper safety measures. Workers should be provided with cooling drinks, shaded rest areas, medical services, and other necessary facilities to ensure their well-being during the hot period.

This initiative emphasizes worker safety while maintaining productivity during the scorching summer months.
