Bhubaneswar, Feb 20: The National Handloom Expo has officially begun in Bhubaneswar at the Exhibition Ground. The event, which will run until April 1, is open to the public from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM daily.
ଆଜିଠାରୁ ରାଜଧାନୀ ଭୁବନେଶ୍ୱର ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇଛି ଜାତୀୟସ୍ତରୀୟ ହସ୍ତତନ୍ତ ମେଳା। ପ୍ରଦର୍ଶନୀ ପଡିଆରେ ଆୟୋଜିତ ଏହି ମେଳା ଅପ୍ରେଲ୍ ୧ ତାରିଖ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଚାଲୁ ରହିବ। ଏହା ମେଳା ସର୍ବସାଧାରଣଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପୂର୍ବାହ୍ନ ୧୧ଟା ୩୦ରୁ ରାତି ୯ଟା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଖୋଲା ରହିବ।

The expo features a wide array of handloom products from Odisha, including famous fabrics like Sambalpuri, Sonpuri, Bomkai, Khandapada, Maniabandha, and Habaspuri. Additionally, visitors can explore handloom items from other regions of India, including West Bengal’s Jamdani and Tangail, Jammu and Kashmir’s Pashmina shawls, Tamil Nadu’s Kanjivaram silk sarees, and furnishings from Delhi and Haryana, along with Karnataka’s silk sarees.
The event was inaugurated by Pradeep Bal Samanta, the Minister for Handloom, Textiles, and Handicrafts, who highlighted the importance of supporting traditional handloom crafts.
