Odisha’s export basket is rapidly expanding, with new international destinations such as Rome, Venice, and Birmingham now receiving a variety of fresh produce from the state. In addition to mangoes, other indigenous fruits and vegetables like jackfruit, drumstick, wood apple, and ice apple are finding new markets overseas.
This growing global footprint is a result of focused efforts by the Odisha government and export promotion agencies to improve infrastructure, ensure quality standards, and connect local farmers with international buyers. The move not only enhances the state’s agricultural economy but also provides better income opportunities for farmers and local producers.
As Odisha continues to diversify its agricultural exports, it is well on its way to becoming a key player in India’s farm-to-global initiative—highlighting the state’s potential in contributing to both national economic growth and global food supply chains.
