30th January 2025: The “Utkarsh Odisha Make in Odisha Conclave 2025” has created exciting opportunities for investment and development in the state. With over 145 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed, this event has attracted an impressive ₹16.73 lakh crore in proposed investments, which are expected to generate nearly 12.88 lakh jobs. These investments span a range of sectors, including chemicals, petrochemicals, textiles, mining, renewable energy, IT, tourism, and food processing—each contributing to the state’s economic transformation.

One of the standout initiatives from the conclave is the Subhadra Scheme, designed to empower women entrepreneurs and give them the tools to succeed in business. This scheme is not just a policy—it’s a promise to build a future where women play a crucial role in driving economic progress. The focus on empowering women aligns with Odisha’s broader vision of becoming a prosperous state by 2036 and contributing to India’s development by 2047.
The growing interest from industries in sectors like IT, infrastructure, and manufacturing highlights the potential for Odisha to become a key player in India’s industrial landscape. As these investments take shape, the state’s infrastructure will be modernized, new skill development opportunities will emerge, and the foundation for a strong IT hub will be established.

Chief Minister Mr. Mohan Charan Majhi stressed the importance of women’s contributions to Odisha’s growth, reaffirming the state’s commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs. As part of this effort, the government plans to establish a Women’s Industrial Park and a dedicated cell to support women in business, providing them with the necessary resources to thrive.
