Michael Kremer Delivers Lecture to Odisha’s Leaders and Students

9th December 2024: Nobel Prize-winning economist Michael Kremer delivered an insightful lecture to Odisha’s administrative officers, educators, students, and researchers at Lok Seva Bhavan. The event was organized by the state government’s Planning and Coordination Department.

In his address, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja emphasized that, inspired by Professor Kremer’s ideas, the state is committed to the vision of a developed Odisha by 2036, aligning its goals with the broader vision of a prosperous India by 2047. He also stressed the importance of strengthening administrative systems to achieve these ambitious objectives.

Michael Kremer, an acclaimed economist, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for his pioneering work in development economics, particularly his innovative methods to address global poverty. His research has focused on practical, scalable solutions to poverty and economic growth, with a strong emphasis on education and health interventions.
