Odisha Approves Upgrade of 67 Primary Schools Across the State

Bhubaneswar, July 11 (UDN): The Odisha Government has approved the upgradation of 67 primary schools across the State into upper primary institutions, aiming to improve access to middle-level education and provide better learning opportunities for students.

The decision was approved by the School and Mass Education Department following a proposal submitted by the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA). The selected schools have been identified across different districts as per government norms and guidelines.

The upgradation will benefit students, especially those in rural and underserved areas, by allowing them to continue their education closer to their homes without travelling long distances for upper primary classes.

The government has directed concerned authorities to take necessary steps for the smooth implementation of the decision. The upgraded schools will be provided with required infrastructure, including classrooms, basic facilities, and adequate teaching staff.

Officials have also been asked to complete all administrative formalities and ensure that the upgraded institutions become operational at the earliest.

The move is part of Odisha’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the school education system, improve student retention, and ensure wider access to quality education across the State.

The upgradation of these 67 schools is expected to create better educational opportunities for students and support the development of stronger learning facilities at the grassroots level.
