The 16th edition of Unwind-2024, organized by the SAI International Education Group, drew more than 30,000 attendees to Bhubaneswar on December 1. Themed ‘The Voyage of Hope,’ the event, led by Class XI Commerce and Humanities students, was a vibrant showcase of creativity, innovation, and leadership, solidifying its status as one of India’s largest student-driven cultural festivals.
Inaugurated by Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, the festival was praised for fostering entrepreneurial and leadership skills among students. Mahapatra highlighted how Unwind-2024 equips the next generation with critical thinking, innovation, and leadership, in line with the vision of the festival’s founder, Bijaya Kumar Sahoo.
Launched in 2008, Unwind has evolved under the guidance of Silpi Sahoo, chairperson of the SAI International Education Group. This year’s event offered a diverse mix of activities, from arcade games and e-sports competitions to adventure rides and a Jack Sparrow-inspired theme park. Cultural performances, Nerf gun challenges, and maze games added to the excitement, while informational lounges introduced visitors to educational initiatives like the 100 Library Project and Cambridge-IGCSE.
