Apollo Cancer Centres Launches ‘OraLife’ for Early Oral Cancer Detection

Bhubaneswar, May 31: Ahead of World No Tobacco Day, Apollo Cancer Centres (ACC) launched ‘#OraLife’, a national programme focused on early screening for oral cancer. India accounts for nearly a third of global cases, largely linked to tobacco and alcohol use.

“Oral cancer can often be detected early with a simple check-up,” said Dr. Alok Srivastava, COO of Apollo Hospitals. ACC is also partnering with Isha Foundation to provide mental wellness support through their free ‘Miracle of Mind’ app to help people quit tobacco.

Dr. Prashant Dash, Surgical Oncologist, urged everyone over 30, especially tobacco users, to get screened. The campaign also highlights the financial burden of tobacco, with users spending significantly more on healthcare, as noted by Dr. Pritish Patra.

The initiative aims to raise awareness and save lives through early detection and support.
