8th April 2025: The government is rolling out new health cards under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana for beneficiaries across the country. According to the latest updates, Anganwadi workers will distribute the new cards to eligible families. These cards will serve as a gateway to availing free healthcare services under the scheme.
In an effort to ensure smooth service delivery, the information about beneficiaries will be updated every 12 hours at the Jan Seva Kendras. The scheme aims to cover 1.03 crore families, benefiting 3.46 crore individuals. To receive the new cards, beneficiaries will need to present their old cards along with their Aadhaar cards for verification.
Over the next three months, the government plans to distribute the new cards to all eligible families. While previously, 900 hospitals in 16 states provided treatment under this scheme, now the scope has been expanded, with 29,000 home hospitals across the country offering health services.
The government continues to work towards providing free medical care through this initiative, with a list of participating hospitals available on the official website. This is a significant step toward making healthcare more accessible to millions of citizens under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
