14th July 2025, Kotpad: In a bid to promote better hygiene and public health, a cleanliness drive named “Adopt Cleanliness, Drive Away Disease” was recently launched at the Kotpad NAC office. The program was inaugurated by Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra, who also kicked off the campaign.
The launch event saw the participation of Swachh Saathis (cleanliness ambassadors), NAC officials, and local representatives. This awareness campaign will run until the end of the month and focuses on encouraging people to keep their surroundings — both public areas and their own homes — clean.
Kamalesh Mahanta Hans, Executive Officer of the NAC, explained that the main goal is to educate residents about the importance of good hygiene. He emphasized that maintaining cleanliness is the best way to protect the community from illnesses like cholera, dengue, and COVID-19.
MLA Rupu Bhatra appealed to everyone to incorporate cleanliness into their everyday lives to build a healthier environment. The initiative was organized under the guidance of NAC Chairperson Shankar Rao and saw active involvement from Self-Help Group members, sanitation workers, and local councillors.
This campaign reflects Kotpad’s strong commitment to improving public health by spreading awareness about hygiene and sanitation.
