Bhubaneswar, Feb 6: Odisha will launch a month-long deworming drive on February 10, aimed at improving the health and nutrition of over 16 million children and women. The initiative, led by the Directorate of Family Welfare in partnership with UNICEF, targets children aged 1 to 19 years and women of reproductive age (20-24 years).

During the campaign, children will receive Albendazole tablets through schools and Anganwadi centers. A mop-up round on February 17 will ensure that any missed doses are given. Additionally, Vitamin A supplementation will be provided to children to boost immunity and prevent childhood blindness.

This statewide effort will cover 24 districts and reach millions of beneficiaries, significantly improving the overall health and well-being of the population. The drive is a crucial step towards building a healthier and more resilient Odisha.
