
9th December 2024: The 4th edition of the Puri Beach Marathon, organized by the Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club (BCAC), took place on Sunday at Samuka Beach, offering a challenging and unique running experience on the sandy shores of Puri.
The event was inaugurated by Sanjeeb Panda, Additional Director General of Police and BCAC President, alongside BCAC Secretary Ajay Kumar Nanda. Over 500 runners, including 80 women, participated in the marathon, with international runners from Ethiopia, Kenya, and the United Kingdom also taking part.
The marathon featured two main courses: the Half-Marathon, a 10.55 km route from Samuka Beach to Bali Harachandi Beach and back, and a 7-km fun run. Throughout the event, runners were supported by enthusiastic spectators and aid stations placed every 3.5 km along the route.
The marathon offered a total cash prize pool of ₹2 lakh for winners and top finishers, while participants also received a Finisher Medal, event T-shirt, and digital certificates. The Puri Beach Marathon has become a popular and competitive event, attracting runners from across India and the world.
