AI-Powered Attendance System Introduced in Government Offices

Bhubaneswar,21st Aug 2025: The Odisha government is introducing a new system to monitor and track the progress of government land and infrastructure projects. From 1st October, the Chief Minister will inaugurate a CM Dashboard, which will provide real-time updates on all central and state government land projects in Odisha.

The dashboard will include information on project tenders, work orders, land acquisition, forest and environmental approvals, and overall project status. Both the Chief Minister’s office and the public will have access to this platform for updates on mega projects.

At a secretary-level meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, officials discussed government employee performance, attendance, and work efficiency. A key decision made was to link attendance monitoring to AI-based cameras. Initially, this system will be implemented in offices such as the Lok Seva Bhawan and Kharavel Bhawan, and then expanded to all government offices. The Electronics and IT Department has been instructed to set up the necessary infrastructure.

Employees who are absent without reason or do not perform their duties properly will be identified and may be mandatorily placed on leave. The Chief Secretary emphasized strict action against irregularity, negligence, and corruption among government staff. A 15-day action plan has been prepared to implement these measures efficiently.
