ASHA Workers Hit the Streets Over Delay in Monthly Incentive Payments

Dasapalla, March, 6:: An unusual situation was witnessed on Saturday at the premises of the Mid-Block Community Health Centre in Dasapalla. ASHA workers staged a sit-in protest at the hospital campus as they have not received their honorarium and monthly incentive payments for the past three months. They also alleged that special incentives meant for various assigned duties have not been paid.

The protesting ASHA workers even prevented an AYUSH lady doctor and several staff members present inside the office from leaving during the agitation.

According to the workers, they have not received various dues for the last three months. Despite informing the doctors and even district-level authorities about the issue, no action has been taken. “Therefore, we have been forced to stage this protest,” they said.

In response, the CDMO (Chief District Medical Officer) stated that the problem arose due to the uploading of a new app, which has caused technical issues. He assured that the matter would be resolved within a few days.

However, until the time of filing this report, the protest was continuing.
