Baipariguda March, 9: The consecration ceremony of the Hanuman Temple Baipariguda and installation of a new idol was celebrated with great devotion for five days at Baipariguda.
During the celebrations, hundreds of women from many villages of the block participated in the festival. A grand Kalash procession started from the Paschimeswar Shiva Temple and reached the temple premises where various religious rituals were performed.
Seven priests from Puri conducted the traditional rituals and the consecration of the new idol according to temple customs. On the occasion, a large-scale Homa (sacred fire ritual) and Purnahuti were performed. Devotional activities such as Nama Sankirtan were also organized.
Thousands of devotees gathered to witness the installation ceremony of the temple dedicated to the devotee of Lord Rama, Hanuman. The entire town echoed with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Jai Veer Hanuman.”
Among those present at the event were Somnath Rath, Babu Choudhury, Biranchi Narayan Patra and others.
The temple committee also organized a Mina Bazaar (fair) near the temple for the residents of the block. The fair was inaugurated by senior advocate P. Ramesh Patra, representative of the Saptagiri Ulaka Jagabishwoyi, and BJP district vice-president Sudhanshu Shekhar Jena.
Devotees from different areas visited the temple every day to have darshan of the newly installed idol and receive prasad, and in the evening they enjoyed the festive atmosphere of the Mina Bazaar.
