Malkangiri, Nov 29: District Collector Dr. Somesh Kumar Upadhyay visited Bandaghati, including Bandagh and Tuseipada villages under Khairaput Block. During the visit, he emphasized the overall development of the region and improvements in the lifestyle of local residents.
He directed officials to take necessary steps to develop Andarahal village as a model village. He also instructed that the area be developed into a major tourist destination, including the development of the Saruga Waterfall and the construction of a hanging bridge.
To ensure the availability of basic facilities for the Bonda tribal community, the Collector instructed officials to:
improve village roads
provide street lighting
establish a cashew processing unit
He also advised extending livelihood support through livestock-based activities and reviewed the progress of projects under the PM Janman Yojana.
Additionally, the District Collector visited Ambelibeda and Naringijhola villages under Korukonda Block. During this visit, he stressed the importance of development and tourism in the area. He instructed officials to prepare a plan to transform Ambelibeda into a developed village.
To develop Naringijhola as a tourist destination, the Collector directed officials to create infrastructure such as tribal cottages, a viewpoint, and boating facilities.
