BDO Extends Support by Providing Wheelchair to Differently-Abled Aman

Nandahandi, 5th Sept 2025: Aman Chalan (11), son of Chandra Chalan from Phupu village under Jagannathpur Panchayat in Nandahandi block, has been physically disabled since birth. His father, Chandra, works as a daily wage laborer to support the family.

Aman’s legs do not function properly, so he has to crawl to move around. He is currently studying in Class 5 at Phupu village primary school. Since he cannot walk, his family members have to carry him to and from school daily.

Learning about Aman’s condition, Nandahandi BDO (Block Development Officer) Mr. Sahu had visited Phupu village about three months ago in his office vehicle, carrying a wheelchair. He inquired about Aman’s address and even visited his house, but Aman was not at home at that time, so he had to return.

Later, after Aman’s family contacted the BDO, he invited them to the block office today and provided Aman with a wheelchair. He also encouraged the boy to study hard and become a successful person in life.

BDO Mr. Sahu’s noble gesture is being appreciated widely in different circles. District Education Officer (DEO) Bijitra Satpathy was also present during the wheelchair handover ceremony.
