Bhubaneswar, Oct 23 [UDN}:The consecration ceremony of Lord Madanmohan Ji’s new temple and idol was held at Patra Sahi in Bhottaka Gram Panchayat under Rasulpur Block, amid religious rituals, Vedic chanting, yajna and devotional singing.
Organised by the Bhottaka Village Committee, the ceremony featured traditional religious rites, including the installation of sacred yantras, Nama Sankirtan and homa rituals. On Monday, the ceremonial ritual arrangements and yajna pavilion were established as part of the preparations for the consecration ceremony.
On Tuesday morning, a ceremonial procession carrying sacred water pots was taken out, following which the kalash was installed near the deity’s sanctum. The ritual area was purified, and preparations were completed for the commencement of the yajna.
The newly installed idol of Lord Madanmohan Ji was taken on a procession around the village before being placed inside the temple. The priests then performed the traditional consecration rituals, including Chakshudana (the ceremonial opening of the deity’s eyes), the prescribed ritual of rest and Jivanyasa, invoking divine life into the idol.
At the yajna pavilion, Vedic hymns and Gayatri Mantra were recited, followed by the lighting of the sacred fire and the performance of the yajna. The names of various deities were invoked, and a total of 1,008 offerings of ghee were made into the sacred fire as part of the religious observances.
Members of the Sankirtan group presented devotional songs and bhajans, creating a spiritual atmosphere throughout the ceremony.
Pandit Keshan Rath, along with fellow priests Gopinath Panda, Krushnachandra Panda and Ramachandra Dash, conducted the religious rituals and supervised the yajna proceedings.
In the evening, the ceremony concluded with the offering of purna ahuti, marking the completion of the yajna, followed by the distribution of prasad among devotees and participants.
Members of the Madanmohan Ji Temple Management Committee actively assisted in organising and conducting the religious programme, ensuring the smooth completion of the idol installation and temple consecration ceremony.
