Bhubaneswar,19th May 2025: International Museum Day was celebrated with a lively mix of exhibitions, talks, and student showcases, centered around the theme “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities.” Free entry encouraged strong public participation.
A key attraction was the “Har Ghar Museum” campaign, inviting people to share photos and videos of personal collections, highlighting the cultural value of everyday items and family treasures.
Two notable exhibits included “Intimate Fish Museology – The Science Behind” by fish expert Bibhudatta Mishra, and “Exploring Science & Culture in Collectible Odisha” by philatelist Bibhuti Patnaik. Both explored Odisha’s heritage through unique collectibles.
Student displays on May 17–18 featured rare stamps and vintage currency, engaging visitors of all ages. A film screening and a talk titled “Personal Museology – The Search Behind” further enriched the event.
Regional Science Centre coordinator Kapil Jain said museums today play a broader role, acting as hubs for community connection and scientific awareness.
