The Rs 18.42-crore steel-and-glass skywalk is being developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and is designed to provide pedestrians with a safer way to cross the highway while reducing the risk of accidents.

The 450-metre-long and three-metre-wide structure will be linked with the existing foot overbridge at Palasuni and is targeted for completion by March 2027. The project will also include three new foot overbridges near Rasulgarh and Palasuni Canal, along with six elevators to make the facility accessible for all commuters.

Featuring modern design elements and durable safety materials, the skywalk is expected to improve pedestrian movement and ease congestion on one of Bhubaneswar’s busiest stretches.

The project is set to benefit thousands of daily commuters and marks an important step in the city’s efforts to build safer and more efficient urban infrastructure.
