Board of Secondary Education Prepares to Conduct Independent OTET Exam

Bhubaneswar, 9th Sept 2025:The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, which conducts the Independent Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET), is preparing to conduct the examination on the upcoming 27th. After facing criticism in the past over question paper leaks, BSE is now gearing up to conduct the exam under tight security measures.

This time, the board has adopted a new system: the exam will be conducted following the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Kendriya Vidyalaya exam management models. Every effort is being made to prevent any irregularities. This information was shared by BSE President Mr. Srikanta Tarai.

It is worth noting that the OTET exam, initially scheduled for July, had to be postponed. Later, the board issued a notification to hold the exam on August 31, but it was again deferred due to lack of proper preparation.

Now, the revised exam date is September 27, as officially announced by the board on Saturday. The admit cards will be available for download on the board’s official website starting September 17.

The exam will be held at the same 193 centres identified earlier, with no changes to the list. The exam will be conducted with the cooperation of District Collectors, Superintendents of Police (SPs), and District Education Officers (DEOs).

The question paper pattern will remain unchanged, but new measures will be added to the exam administration system, according to Mr. Tarai.
