BSF Conducts Civic Action Program in Remote Areas

Kalimela:Feb, 21:  A public outreach camp was organized by the 110th Battalion of the Border Security Force at the playground of the Regional Higher Secondary School under Padia subdivision of Malkangiri district. On this occasion, a free health camp was also conducted, where more than 500 people were provided medical services.
The program emphasized bringing people from tribal-dominated and remote areas like Padia into the mainstream and maintaining a sense of brotherhood and mutual trust. Over the past few years, BSF personnel have been stationed in different parts of the district and have succeeded in maintaining peace and order by building good relations with local residents.

Officials stated that this has been possible due to strong cooperation and understanding between local people, community leaders, and the security forces. Villagers were also informed that training in self-defense skills would be provided.

Village committees were urged to focus on children’s education, health, and nutrition, and to help create a positive social environment. BSF and police officials also appealed for maintaining good coordination with police, resolving family disputes through mutual understanding, and spreading awareness against child marriage.

During the program, blankets, school bags, volleyballs, nets, and other materials were distributed by the BSF. Among those present were BSF Second-in-Command Atul Yadav, Padia Police Station Officer Santosh Kumar, Padia Block Vice-Chairman Kalyan Biswas, School Headmaster Parmananda Mahapatra, Block Assistant Engineer Bishnu Mahapatra, SI Nirod Kumar Bagh, and many other local officials and residents, with participation reportedly crossing two thousand people.
