Bhubaneswar, March, 17: The death toll in the fire incident at the Trauma Care ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital has risen to 11. The Chief Minister visited SCB in Cuttack to assess the situation.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced financial assistance of Rs25 lakh for each of the deceased persons’ families.
He has ordered a judicial inquiry into the incident and stated that action will be taken after the investigation report is submitted.He has also directed the Director General of Fire Services to supervise the investigation. The Chief Minister mentioned that the major fire might have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
The President of India has expressed grief over the fire incident at SCB Medical in Cuttack.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the incident and announced financial assistance of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased.
BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik has also expressed grief over the Cuttack SCB fire incident.
