Papadahandi, 20th Aug 2025: Acting on the instructions of Nabarangpur District Collector Dr. Dr. Maheshwar Swain, roadsides and drains in Papadahandi block headquarters were cleaned.
A few days ago, the Collector had visited Papadahandi. During his inspection, he expressed dissatisfaction after finding drains clogged with garbage and roadsides littered with waste. Following this, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of BDO Kapildev Sahu, where it was decided to conduct a cleanliness drive.
Shopkeepers in the village were given prior notice, and on August 13, under the chairmanship of Block Vice-Chairman Sushant Behera, a special meeting was organized regarding roadside and drain cleaning. The Block Vice-Chairman, BDO, Tehsildar, GPO, and local residents together carried out awareness drives in the village market, urging cooperation.
Subsequently, drains along the Umarakote road were thoroughly cleaned. The roadside garbage was removed, and the clogged drains were cleared. Grateful villagers have expressed thanks to the Collector for taking prompt action to improve sanitation in their area.
