Jeypore April 06: A meeting of the Koraput District Council of the Communist Party of India (CPI) was held under the अध्यक्षता of Comrade Kumar Jini.
District Secretary Comrade Ram Krishna Das presented a report on the activities carried out over the past three months. Following this, State Executive Committee member Comrade Pramod Mohanty discussed the resolutions taken in the recent State Council meeting.
Key proposals included submitting the membership renewal data to the state at the earliest, ensuring participation of Koraput district representatives in the state-level convention of the All India Dalit Rights Movement on April 5, and conducting a door-to-door campaign throughout April. During this campaign, CPI leaders will visit villages and households to identify people deprived of government benefits, prepare a list, and organize agitation programs at the Gram Panchayat level in May.
CPI State Assistant Secretary Jayanta Das also addressed the meeting, highlighting the current political situation and the role of the party.
Among others, former District Secretary Comrade Yudhishthir Raul, District Assistant Secretaries Dura Chanayak, Kurum Nath Bhatra, Purnachandra Sur, Tirupati Bhatra, Balaram Nayak, Madhab Jani, Sunita Nag, Nanda Harijan, and Rupadhar Pujari participated in discussions on various resolutions.
At the beginning of the meeting, tributes were paid to veteran CPI leader R. Nallakannu, Somnath Patra, those killed in the Iran conflict, and victims who lost their lives in an ICU fire incident at SCB Medical College, Cuttack.
