Dance and Music Enthrall Audience at Chaiti Stage

Kalyansinghpur,Dec, 13:  The block-level Chaiti festival was held at the local Badadanda Ratha Padia. Artists from nearby villages showcased their talents. The Chaiti stage came alive with the rhythmic dance of the tribal performers.

This morning, rituals and worship were conducted near the Shiva temple at the confluence of the Kalyani and Nagavali rivers. Afterward, holy water was collected in a ceremonial pot (kalasha), and a grand procession was taken out. The procession went around the town and the kalasha was then installed at the Chaiti pavilion. District Council President Saraswati Majhi attended as the chief guest. She also inaugurated the eight stalls set up by the block administration as part of the festival celebrating culture, heritage, and creativity.

In a meeting chaired by BDO Manisha Das, several dignitaries were present as honored guests — Central Tribal Morcha General Secretary Kaliram Majhi, District Council Member V. Vara Prasad Rao, MP Representative Kumar Swami Kaushalya, Kandh Community Block President Yogendra Wadeka, Vice-President Shankar Huika, Dom Community Block President Jagam Benia, BJP Block Mandal President Ajit Panigrahi, District Youth Morcha President Umesh Khosla, Block Congress President C.H. Nageswar Rao, Drivers’ Association President Gajendra Garadia, Forest Range Officer Chandan Gamang, District Art & Culture Association Vice-President Santosh Kumar Bala, Kalyansinghpur Tehsildar Ranjan Kumar Manaseth, and Samiti members, among others.

The Chaiti program was conducted by Shridhar Pattnayak, teacher of Rayagada Tadama School. In the cultural segment, artists from various schools and kirtan groups performed dance and music. Finally, winners of different competitions were awarded.
