Rayagada, June 16: Hasina Nayak, a young athlete from Rayagada, has achieved remarkable success at the National Powerlifting Championship. She brought pride to both her district and the state through her outstanding performance at the championship held in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, from June 4 to June 8.
Competing in the 44 kg sub-junior category, Hasina won two gold medals and earned the title of National Powerlifting Champion. She lifted 65 kg in the squat, 27 kg in the bench press, and 80 kg in the deadlift, achieving a total lift of 172 kg. This impressive performance earned her recognition as the best athlete in her category at the national level.
Hasina trains regularly at the Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium in Rayagada. She credited her success to the continuous training and guidance provided by her coaches, Dora Kondagiri and Pinki Huika.
After news of her achievement reached Rayagada, she received congratulations from Appalaswamy Kadraka, social worker Kirti Chandra Sahu, Kola Ashok Kumar, Harish Patnaik, and many sports enthusiasts.
