Kotpad, Feb, 25: At the temple of the presiding deity Maa Sheetala Thakurani in Kotpad, the Aangyamala was received on the occasion of this year’s triennial Ghata Yatra.
After the morning rituals today, in the presence of Committee President Mani Prasad Pattnaik, Secretary Rameshwar Jena, all committee members, devotees of the Kotpad area, and temple servitors, Maa Sheetala Thakurani bestowed the Aangyamala.
It is informed that this year the Ghata Yatra will begin on March 23 and continue until April 1, as announced by the committee members. They also appealed for cooperation from the residents of the Kotpad area to ensure that the festival is conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.
This Ghata Yatra is organized once every three years. Notably, after the famous Brahmapur Budhi Thakurani Yatra, the Kotpad Yatra is considered the second-largest festival of its kind in Odisha. Devotees from Kotpad as well as from Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, and neighboring districts eagerly await this renowned Ghata Yatra.
