District Administration Conducts Public Hearing Camp in Umerkote to Strengthen Citizen-Government Engagement

Nabarangpur, June 24 {UDN}:A Public Grievance Hearing Camp was successfully organized today at the conference hall of the Umerkote Panchayat Samiti under the joint chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain and Superintendent of Police Partha Kashyap Jagadish.
The camp was attended by Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra, BDO Manoj Kumar Meher, and all district-level departmental officers. They listened to the grievances of the public and took immediate steps toward resolving the issues.

A total of 21 applications were received during the camp. Of these, 13 were related to individual grievances, while 8 concerned village-level and community issues. One complaint was resolved on the spot, while the remaining cases were forwarded to the concerned departments with instructions to ensure resolution within the stipulated time frame.
On this occasion, the District Social Security Department provided wheelchairs to three identified differently-abled beneficiaries.
Additionally, under the Central Scheme for Assistance to Civilian Victims of Terrorism, Naxalism, Communal Violence, and Left-Wing Extremism (CSACV), financial assistance was provided to families affected by Left-Wing Extremist violence. Mrs. Radhika Mallik (wife of late Chandan Kumar Mallik) and Mrs. Amrita Nagesh (wife of late Narayan Nagesh) from Raighar Block received cheques of ₹5 lakh each. Similarly, Mrs. Manak Bhatra (wife of late Baishakhu Bhatra) from Jharigaon Block was provided a financial assistance cheque of ₹3 lakh.
Addressing the gathering, the District Collector stated that the district administration remains committed to ensuring the speedy resolution of public grievances and improving citizen services through responsive governance.
The grievance hearing camp reflected the administration’s dedication to transparent governance, public welfare, and timely redressal of issues faced by residents across the district.
