Phulbani, Feb, 24: Dr. Santosh Kumar Padhi, Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer (CDM&PHO) of Kandhamal, has been promoted to the post of State Health Director and transferred to the Directorate of Health Services.
During his short tenure in Kandhamal, significant improvements were made at the district headquarters hospital. Advanced medical equipment such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, and Health ATM facilities were installed. The hospital building was renovated, with special emphasis on cleanliness and better patient care.
To promote faster recovery of patients, arrangements such as continuous lamp lighting (Akhand Deep) and music therapy were introduced. Dr. Padhi also focused on environmental protection by organizing plantation drives within the hospital premises and creating awareness, earning widespread appreciation.
He gave priority to ensuring prompt treatment services at PHCs and CHCs and made consistent efforts to fill vacant posts of doctors and specialists to strengthen healthcare services.
Dr. Padhi was also actively associated with the Rotary Club and various social organizations, contributing to several developmental initiatives.
Following his promotion, he was felicitated on Sunday by different organizations.
