Umarkote, March, 12: A Class 10 (Matric) examination answer sheet evaluation centre has been set up at PM Shri Nodal Sadashiva Sukumar Government High School in Umarkote of Nabarangpur district.
From this year onwards, the Class 10 examination answer sheets will be evaluated here. After the news spread, teachers expressed their happiness. On Monday, they met Umarkote MLA and School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond and conveyed their gratitude.
On this occasion, Nabarangpur District OSTHA President Bansidhar Bhuyaan, Secretary Mihir Kanta Dhali, District Executive President Debashish Nandi, State Executive Member Dulal Baroi, District Joint Secretary Subrata Tripathy and others were present.
According to sources, earlier all high school teachers of the district used to evaluate the Matric examination answer sheets at Nabarangpur. This created difficulties for the teachers appointed for evaluation in terms of travel and accommodation. Teachers from Chandahandi, Raighar, and Jharigaon blocks had to travel nearly 100 kilometers to Nabarangpur.
Considering this issue, the Nabarangpur District Teachers’ Association (OSTHA) had requested School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond and DEO Chhatrapati Sahu to establish an evaluation centre at Umarkote. Following the Minister’s direction, the DEO issued a letter supporting the establishment of the centre at Umarkote. Approval has been granted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
It is reported that the evaluation of answer sheets will begin from March 19 and will continue for 12 days. For this purpose, more than 80 teachers from various high schools have been appointed.
