Faith Drives Devotees to Alarnath Temple During Anabasara

July 3 (UDN): Thousands of devotees are visiting the Alarnath Temple at Brahmagiri in Odisha’s Puri district during the sacred Anabasara period, when Lord Jagannath and the sibling deities remain unavailable for public darshan at the Jagannath Temple.

According to tradition, devotees worship Lord Alarnath during Anabasara, believing that offering prayers at the temple during this period carries significant spiritual importance. The annual observance draws pilgrims from across the state and other parts of the country.

Temple authorities have made arrangements to manage the increased footfall and ensure the smooth conduct of rituals and darshan for devotees. Security and crowd management measures have also been strengthened to facilitate an orderly pilgrimage.

The surge in visitors reflects the enduring religious significance of the Alarnath Temple, which serves as a key centre of worship for devotees until Lord Jagannath reappears for public darshan following the conclusion of the Anabasara period.
