Bhubaneswar, March, 9: Amid preparations for the Rajya Sabh a Elections, Bhakta Charan Das has left for New Delhi for discussions.
Before leaving, Bhakta Das said that discussions are underway regarding five possible candidates. He stated that the Indian National Congress plans to nominate a talented personality from the state as its candidate. He also mentioned that if there is independent support from the Biju Janata Dal and Congress, it would serve the interests of Odisha.
He said he is going to Delhi to hold talks with the party high command, after which the final candidate will be decided.
The names currently being discussed include:
Prabhat Patnaik (Professor)
P. K. Ray (Advocate)
Lalit Mansingh
Subrat Acharya
Datteshwar Hota
