Government of Odisha Plans Heatwave Centres Across Key Areas to Protect Citizens from Extreme Heat

Bhubaneswar, May 04:  The Odisha government is planning to open Heatwave Centres very soon to tackle the rising impact of extreme summer conditions.
With temperatures expected to increase further in the coming days, the state is preparing proactive measures to protect people from heat-related illnesses. These centres will function similarly to cyclone and flood shelters, providing relief and safety during extreme heat.
The initiative aims to offer a safe space for the public, especially vulnerable groups, helping them cope with heatwaves more effectively.
