Government Streamlines CGD Approval Mechanism to Ensure Faster Implementation of City Gas Projects and Improve Energy Access

Bhubaneswar, Mar, 27:   State government takes steps to   accelerate PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connections
Guidelines issued to simplify the approval process for City Gas Distribution (CGD) projects
No fees will be charged for laying underground pipelines
No separate permission required for ongoing or previously approved works
This will remove administrative delays and ensure smooth continuation of projects
Restrictions on road excavation eased to make CGD work hassle-free
These measures will remain in force until June 30 or until further orders
Guidelines issued by the Housing & Urban Development Department
